I have another question, this one more significant than my Humbucker question which was just curiosity.
can a late 60s/70s (harp shape) bass bridge on a Starfire or M-85 bass be replaced with the 1965-1967 straight/flat top bridge- without drilling any holes or mods? I want to possibly find an old one and replace the bridge on my GSR M-85 bass, which does not clear the pickup, so can only be lowered to a certain point as of right now. It plays fine but the action is on the higher side, and I'm just thinking ahead. Ultimately it will need that older bridge or a slight modification of the harp one on there. I saw one of those older straight bridges online not long ago, someone snagged it pretty quick. Wish I had thought of this before that.
