TC Helicon sent me out a replacement and it works fine. I haven't had time to really check it out. I'm off tomorrow so I can spend quality time with it (and my new BeatBuddy pedal). 
I won!!!!

I did have to return the defective unit. They paid shipping and they did not need to get it back before they shipped out the replacement.
