Don't know about the rest of you but I will be out in the field for the big moonrise tomorrow at 8:16 PM, PDT. This is a special moonrise because the perigee is calculated to be at 221,904 miles, closest of 2014. At 99.5% illumination, it should be a big bruiser, sure to interfere with the Perseid meteor showers but hey! :rugby:

Last year's version on July 24.

I have a spot picked out north of here, close to the BC border with an open view of Mt. Baker for the mix!

Yeah, almost 71 and this stuff still does it for me, along with a few other things, :beguiled:

Love this stuff. I was lucky enough to be in Big Sur for this spring's eclipse and a rock show at the Henry Miller Library.

Good times!

That's a beautiful shot, Joe. Enjoy the show in the sky tomorrow--we're supposed to have storms in central Indiana, so I'll miss out.

The skies were moonless for last year's Perseids and will be again next year so it's a good trade-off.
