Thanks Bruno, a friend of mine holidays in Vietnam every couple of years and brought back two mandolins and let me have the,, dragon one, it stays in tune and has a nice low action and sounds as good as any $1000 F-style for half the price. Don't know how old it is, I hope you have a good telescope for the darks nights in Chile. Cheers J

Nice story to go along with that impressive dragon!

I do not have a telescope, not even a lousy one. I live outside Santiago, in the countryside, and although the sky around here is way cleaner and darker than in Santiago, it's not remotely close to what you can see in the north (San Pedro de Atacama, for instance), or in the south (Punta Arenas). Have you been to Chile, by the way, if I may ask?

Thanks for those bridge pictures: never thought about the differences, but afterwards, it seems so obvious...
