Which years bound headstock Starfires?

I have seen some pics of Starfires with bound headstocks, but have never read of any mention here of that feature for dating.
Was wondering if anybody knows what the story is behind them.

on the Starfire bass? was probably just the shrinking/lifting of the black faceplate making it appear that way. threw me off too. some of them shrink or lift very uniformly.

What you may be seeing is classic headstock overlay shrinkage on Guilds, mainly
from the late 60s.

Thusly:

What bound headstock? :)

Although I have heard a report of a 60's instrument with bound F holes...
