To be honest, I'm not a fan of Martins, but this sure is pretty! And with a pretty price tag, too - 10K!

Jeff,
I've owned a few Martins that would have been regarded as great guitars regardless of the name on the headstock, but I can
understand folk's bias toward a particular brand; after all, these are guitars not paperclips.

That is really attractive Rosewood. Is it worth $10k? Probably not. My completely unscientific theory is that the perceived mystical tone of many older Martins is that any Rosewood guitar, might sound incredible regardless of geography, but only based on the fact that it's been aging for sixty or seventy years, especially if it's been taken care of.

I was speaking from ownership experience. I had a 1977 Martin D35, very nice guitar, but not as bright sounding as my Guild. I also found the neck a little chunky.

But, I must admit, I did not realize there was something better out there until I tried the Guild I now own. Guilds were not on my radar at the time.
