My first - and the model I did some research on and ended up joining LTG - '96 S-100.

It's long gone now, but shortly after this one I picked up a '72 S-90 and that got me hooked on the HB-1 pickups.

My first Guild Acoustic was a 1975 D-35 ..... I bought 'Olivia' in 2010 after owning and playing several other brands of acoustic guitars, over the years. How come no one ever told me how great GUILD Guitars sound !

I took this pic of my beloved '74 D-40 last year in Carmel, CA.

She sports new stainless steel frets and plays/sounds/sustains fantastically well! I bought her at a small music store "On the Green" in Taunton, MA. Hard to believe we've been together for 38 yrs.

My first and only (so far) Guild, the 1994 D65s. I'd had it about a year when this picture was taken.

Still looking good today. The lacquer has aged beautifully.....

I really like her blend of colors: headstock, bridge, fretboard, top and pickguard. Stunning. Just plain stunning. Beautiful!!!

All the best,
B.

  • I'll first have to scan a picture of my first Guild; an '82 Artist Award. But in the mean time, here's a pic of my first X170 :)

Here's me playing my first guild back around 1997 or so.

1977 S-100

I've told this story on this forum before, but in 2000 a pawn shop sold it out from under me and a couple of months later I randomly found it at Chicago Music Exchange and bought it back.

I still have it but thankfully I took the stickers off.

Ok so here is my first 3 plus a first ring in :)

Left to right:
My first Guild Electric - 97 Bluesbird

My first ever guitar - 70's Emperador Tele (heavily customised again and again and again over the years. Started out candy apple red with 70's Strat style headstock, then had a natural finish and currently sports chambered body with Australian hardwood bookmatched top and back plus tele headstock)

My first Guild 6 string - 65 D40

My first Guild 12 string - 73 F412

During my recent move, I uncovered this photo, taken around 1989 or 1990, of me with my 1987 Nightbird which I bought new. Enjoyed this thread with all the great guitars and Guild memories.
