Ended up with a back Guild Model 40T amp following me home today. Not bad shape for a sixty year old amp. It works and the tremolo is still trippy, but it needs a three prong plug and cap replacement. With the split chassis configuration, it bears no resemblance to any Guild amp, except the much later, far more powerful Superbirds. 2 12AX7's in the top, one 12AB5 and a rectifier tube in the bottom chassis through a Quam speaker means less volume than a Champ. Played an Epipi LP Junior through it and it would barely overdrive, so will pummel it with the SF6 tonight.

Update. with humbuckers, nice grind at full volume, not terribly loud. Too loud for 9 pm with the windows open, but good tone. Needs a Weber, the Quam is less than impressive. :D
