Here are a few more:

sides bent and glued in place..

inside view..the little arrow on the top ridge is where the side braces go..

side braces all glued on...I like the way the wood grain matched on the sides.....
not perfect but, looks pretty good :wink:

starting to really take shape.....gee..I hope no-one turns on the sander! better move it away from there

It's gonna be a beauty Larry... what is the body depth? It looks a bit deeper than usual but maybe it's the angle of the shot.

as I recall right around 4 3/4"...should be about normal

probably the angle of the shot.The sound hole is a bit larger to mimick tony Rices' guitar.

carving the back braces

rough carved the heel

braces carved and Mike even made me sign the makers label.....only time
in his 35 yrs of building guitars!! .......that way if it falls apart.... :lol:

will fit the back to the body this week

..a random shot of the shop. Here two of my friends who also have built a few of there own guitars are

got the back attached this week

not much else...not much time...will take a router and trim the top and back and route the channel for the bindings.
Working on the Butt strip next...curly Maple W/abolone..just like the back strip

if you hold this up by a corner and tap it ....it almost hurts your ears!!
:lol: a lot of volume there!! :twisted: just what I was looking for!

Thanks guys!
West, I will be spraying on a gloss finish using a water based lacquer.
Easy to work with and easy to fix down the road if a repair is needed.
You cant use Nitro up where we live since the clean Air Act of 05

got the back binding on the other day ( curly Maple ) working on the top binding and fingerboard inlays now...will post a few more pix when I have a lil more time.
