Saw a band this past weekend called Ward Hayden and the Outliers (formerly Girls, Guns, & Glory . . .). A very fun band, playing a blend of old-school country, and early rock 'n roll. Mostly originals, although covers of Merle Haggard & Jimi Hendrix also found their way into the setlist.

The lead singer & rhythm guitar player (Ward Hayden) had a mahogany-topped D-25 in his hands most of the evening. Haven't found a picture of that instrument, but here's one of him holding what appears to be a black D-25:

Don't think I've ever seen this before, stumbled across it while looking for a pic of Crosby and Nash scuba diving, for another thread!

Not sure what's up with the "dot" on the headstock, but pretty darn sure that's a Guild!

Did D-40's have Chesterfields or do we have to go lower then that?
They came and went and returned on D40's so not a guaranteed "tell".
Think a 3-ring rosette is, though, if it can be seen clearly.(As opposed to D25 or 35)
I trust Ralf to have had further reasons to ID it as a D50 that he just didn't expand on, back then.
For that matter can't recall if D50's always got chesterfields, either.

I just stumbled upon this, down one of those YouTube rabbit holes...The Cure...I remember them as a sort of Aerosmith/U2 kinda band, this is completely different,
looks like they had a complete line up change. But, there is a big black Guild 12! Lead singer seems to have morphed from Steve Tyler to Nikki Styxx

And while we're on the subject of Crosby's D50, our friend Kitarkus found another shot of that instrument in Graham Nash's loving embrace:
Check out Graham Nash in 1971 at the Berkeley Community Theater....holding a Guild no less. Gee....I wonder who that crazy haired guy is kneeling at the forefront.

Something about the logo looked a little funny to me, and when I zoomed in with "control+plus" it's clearly the dot, not a G-shield.

I read on Wikipedia and a couple other places about Stevie Ray Vaughan owning a Guild S-300! I searched a little and could not find a pic of him with the guitar or the guitar itself. Has anyone come across a pic?

Has this been posted before? Joe Walsh (early version of James Gang maybe?). Guild Starfire V. Love that backline too!

I haven't seen this pic before of Pete with his (at the time) Guild Merle Travis. And a teddy bear.
