Influential Irish musician Rea Garvey (previously frontman of Raymonn), who lives and plays in Germany since 1998. Nice picture with his Guild D-55!

Is there a guitar anywhere in this picture? :devilish:

On another note, I recently watched a documentary called "The Wrecking Crew" about a group of studio musicians that were the guiding force of 50's and 60's rock and roll. There appeared to be plenty of Guild guitars in that if anyone is interested in watching. Even without it was a very interesting documentary.

there was some discussion about this documentary in the Glen Campbell thread, here:

Seen frequently with her black Guild S-100 DeLuxe, in this tbt photo Sleater-Kinney posted on Facebook, Carrie Brownstein is shown in proximity to a JetStar S-50.

Watching a docu about Stevie Ray Vaughn, and caught sight of an early collaborator, Marc Benno, with that familiar headstock. Looks like an early 70s Bluesbird (pic is from '72.)

(Btw, moderators, shouldn't this thread be sticky-d?)

Gene Cornish of the (Young) Rascals after moving on from Barney Kessel.

It has been posted that Ron Elliott of the Beau Brummels played a Starfire III

But when Ron had to stop touring due to his diabetes, his replacement (and later band mate) Don Irving also played one. Here is Don at a reunion show in 2002 still playing his:

Came across another pic of Rick Nielsen with the Merle Travis model he had rebuilt.

The latest "The Big Interview with Dan Rather" featured Carly Simon. In one performance clip she's playing a Guild 12-er.

Great photo of Carly Simon! It looks like it was taken early in her career. Thanks for posting. :encouragement:

This is a group of photos from the early '70s that I discovered the other day while reading up on the NRPS.

http://cryptdev.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Photo 3 of 7 shows John "Marmaduke" Dawson with a beautiful F-50.
Photo 7 of 7 shows Dave Tolbert playing a deep body M-85 bass.
And as a bonus, photo #1 shows Jerry Garcia assembling his pedal steel guitar. :eek:nthego:

Someone with better skills than myself will have to insert the photos into the thread.

I spy, with my little eye, something that starts with "Starfire..."

Anyone know who played guitar in the Ike and Tina Turner Revue band?

A little SF III action on the Aaron Neville episode of Live from Daryl's House.
Did they have black dynas on the 60s SFs?

Someone was asking about a CE-100 on FB, saying that Dylan had one. I didn't remember seeing anything on here, but, sure enough, found a pic of him with one in the studio. Anyone know if it was his, or he was just playing it?
