I love that! I'm no expert but doesn't the 3 knobs make that an S-250?

When I scrolled down one reply I saw "capnjuan" reply and immediatly knew this was an old post. Unfortunately capn passed away from cancer probably 10 years ago. He was a good guy and knew quite a lot about vintage tube amps.

Gone but not forgotten!

Well, this thread is indeed 12 years old...Nevertheless as closing post, this is from 1981:

The S-250 has four knobs.
Only the first series S-250 starting 1981 had 4 knobs (also like in the catalog above). The later S-250 like in the 1983 catalog only had 3 knobs (2 Volume, one Tone).

Most of the S250's that I've seen had 4 knobs.
Grot, I'm curious if the SN on your S250 is a later year. All the S275's I've seen only had 3 knobs.
