How long have you owned the DV-6 :Less than a year

Year & specific model:Tacoma built Rosewood B/S
Purchased new or used:NOS
Price paid:879.00

Owners rate 1 (least appreciated) to 10 (most appreciated) in following categories with comments as desired:

Build quality 10
Looks 8
Projection 10
Bass 10
Mids 7
Highs 10
Sustain 8
Playability/comfort Neck is easy, it's big for me but I'm getting used to it
Dependability 10
Fingerstyle very good in someone else s hand, but I'm learning
Flatpick very good. good note seperation
Strum excellent

Condition (Mint/Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor): mint

Favorite Strings (one selection only):Don't know because I still have the same ones on it

Would you buy another if lost/sold: probably, if I was in the market for a dread

Overall Assessment: No bling. neck is easy. stays in tune all the time, beautiful sound, great projection, build quality +1

Most Appreciated Characteristic: string separation, immaculate build
Least Appreciated: for me the body is a little deep
Favorite DV-6Story/Moment: Just beginning when I bought it. It was the best/loudest sounding guitar in a room full of Martins, unless I wanted to spend an additional 2500.00 dollars

Other observations/comments: My only complaint would be that the set up is a little high

How long have you owned the DV-6: 3 months
Year & specific model: 1998 DV-6 NT HG E
Purchased new or used: Used

Owners rate 1 (least appreciated) to 10 (most appreciated) in following categories with comments as desired:

Build quality - 10
Looks - 10 ( The Herringbone Rosette does it for me)
Projection - 9
Bass - 10
Mids - 10
Highs - 10
Sustain - 9
Playability/comfort - 10+
Dependability - 10
Fingerstyle - 10
Flatpick - 10
Strum - 10

Condition (Mint/Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor): Excellent

Favorite Strings (one selection only): On Mahogany I like JP's PB

Would you buy another if lost/sold: yes (I'd buy another just so I could say I have two)

Overall Assessment: Not a cannon but a real pleasure to play. I like the factory Fishman,, I've heard people comment on the knobs being ugly. I like them and it's nice to have control of the volume and tone at your finger tips while plugged in.

Most Appreciated Characteristic: Factory Pickup
Least Appreciated: The top has a little runout
Favorite DV-6Story/Moment: I met a young man who was about to lose this guitar to a pawnshop. He asked if I’d pay off the loan and give him $50.

We go in and pay the loan. The guy brings it out and opens the case and I’m staring at a beautiful DV-6 NT HG E. It has a factory Fishman installed. The only thing keeping it from looking new was the gold plating on the tuner buttons being faded and a little ding on the side by the endpin. I gave him $60 and told him he could buy it back when he got back on his feet.

Other observations/comments: I think the Westerly DV-6 is one of the most under rated dreads in the Guild line-up. If you come across one I'd recommend buying it.

I think it should be noted here that there are a few versions of the DV6. Of course the beautiful Westerly built mahogany, then the Tacoma, now the Mexican version. Just to be sure, not to lump all DV6's together. They are different guitars.
