...so it looks like it has two power tubes, but really has only one...or...they are using the pentode sides for output power and the triode sides for preamp and PI? Do I understand that right?

Is this tube sort a like a 12DW7, that has two disimilar sections?

Correct, Bill! The 6BM8 has, effectively, 1/2 of a 12ax7 as well as a pentode to provide the shove through the speaker.
Two pentodes, two gain stages, one phase inverter, one trem oscillator.

Everything Noah says about it is true. It's a nice low-wattage mudbox - perfect for a saturdaynight jam along with the radio!
