Here are a few pics of my new S-50.

Please note the beautiful little S-50 guitar pin which came attached to the box lid in the case!
Pretty interesting,eh?
Anyone ever seen that before?

...they took away the original finish, right?...

Looks finished to me. I wouldn't think they'd put a lot into a finish designed to compete with an Esquire or something.

Looks good to me! Bone stock from the pics in Han's book, I'd say. 8)

Welp, naturally I'd take from Hans before I'd bank on my opinion concerning originality, but I think it would likely look terrible if the finish were altered.

This photo looks very different from the first one I took while it was in the case.

The finish may or may not be original.
I have looked it up,down and all around, however,it would take better eyes than mine to determine that.
It is obvious to me,looking at the fretboard, that she has been played alot over the years.
After making some minor adjustments,I find it quite fun to play.

Think I'm going to enjoy working with this one,yep !

Welcome to S-50 ownership, Raj. They are fun, aren't they? And I agree with l-songs and yetto that it looks cool as it is. I sometimes talk about refinishing, but in the end, I like 'em they way they are.
