Been meaning to mention these guys for a while. They were being hailed as a kind of Pakistani U2 in their heyday, and there's a new album just released. I'm real sucker for this kind of middle-eastern flavored stuff, as well as this band's efforts in the pursuit of peace. Reminds me of how we thought it was s'posed to be when we were young.

Just listened to it...my western ears are not used to the sound, but it actually is a bit mesmerizing. Went to a seminar that included Tim Sparks last year where he talked about Eastern scales (or parts of scales) in his music. BTW, still taking practice swings and hope to be called up to 'the bigs' one day.
Practice makes perfect! I actually thought I'd see some response from the European contingent of LTG, that kind of stuff seems to be more widely appreciated over there. That particular vid was from "Azadi" which is my personal favorite of theirs. The guitarist actually grew up in New York and the bassist for the bulk of their career was actually American, they brought a strong rock/blues background to the mix, thus the music would be considered heavily westernized "over there"...
I like your sig: "Consider the Tao..." Makes me want to give a colorful reply, something like, "Open your ears and your mind will follow"...it could even work the other way around! :D
