Do those models all fit in the same case? Would a 70s SF VI (no Bigsby) fit in the case that ships with the durrent run of SF IV?

My original case is well travelled, so I should probably give it a rest.

Maddy,

I believe all of those are the same width and depth, in which case (heh heh) one size fits all.

You could probably find exact dimensions online somewhere.

The 70s Starfires are deeper than the 90s Starfires, but not by much. Both will fit in the same case.

Here is a pic of a '99 next to a '73.

The Starfire VI is definitely deeper than my ES-335. Feels more of a difference in your hands than it looks in pics.

Darryl:

I'm finding it fascinating, comparing my '66 ES-335 against the '75 SF VI. The 335 is lighter, thinner, narrower neck. It feels stripped down and lightweight next to the SF. The SF feels heavier, plush or luxurious next to the more elemental feeling 335. How could such similar guitars feel so different?

GAD,

That's quite a difference. I didn't know that. Is the width the same?

I don't have the 70's models anymore, but I'd say they're close enough in other dimensions to not matter. They fit in the same cases. The necks are wider on the 90s models. 90s are 1 11/16" the 70s models are 1 5/8".
