Will beating on the inside of the baffleboard towards the front rip the battens out with it? If yes, could you make new battens and screw/glue in place? If the amp itself sounds good, I don't think a custom cab that size would be very expensive, and it would probably make the amp sound better.

If I pick up a tablesaw, I could crank out a cabinet in a weekend. The biggest annoyance is the mounting method of the machine screws through the sides. The thought of a 4x8 "mini-Super" is intriguing though.
Teh wife has the itch to move now that the mortgage is paid off, and two items that are non-negotiable are office and workshop space.
