Ok here are a few more:

With all of the top braces are in place its time to check the sides for length. You can see a piece of Mahogony kerfing I have chosen to give a nice contrast to the Olive wood. Also note the water stains from bending the sides that will have to be sanded away.

With the sides clamped in a form I am gluing and clamping the kerfing in place.

spreading a nice thin and even coat of glue.

Clamps,clamps,clamps!!!!!!!!

Great stuff Larry.

At this point then, what are your thoughts on the process? Something you would like to do yourself or something you would definitely assist on in the future?

Do you have a sense of the appearance of the finished olive wood?

Hi Graham, at this piont I would love to do much more but, I am just at the start of the journey to learn a trade like this one. I will be helping Mike out at the shop for quite a while yet but as far as doing this myself...
at this point...I am happy just to learn what I can and do as much "hands on" as he is comfortable with letting me do. :) ...as far as the finish on the Olive wood...

The left side of this pic has just a bit of finish on it to give an idea of how it will look. Part of the excitment of a project like this is waiting to see just how something will turn out!! :D

Here I am cutting the slots for the frets on a slot cutting jig
probably should have turned this pic...its done on a table saw.

Here I laid the fretboard on top of the rough cut neck to give an idea of where were at so far. Had a lot of other pics but the Great Computor Crash last week took a lot of them. :(
