In fact, I did. It's been about 8 years since the re-fret, there were worn down spots in the frets where all the John Prine songs are :D

Just like the late great George Formby sang:

"I'm leaning on a lampost at the corner of the street, in case a certain little lady comes by...."

(She's on the previous page - in front of the CNN tower :!: )

The 2006 dealer lit has a pretty short list as well:
James, McMurty, Erik Mongrain, The Resentments, Verlon Thompson, Shawn Camp, Don Henry, Hank III, Danny Flowers, Doc Watson, George Strait, Big Kenny (Big and Rich), Richie Havens, Cassandra Wilson, and Willy Porter. In reality though, the instruments need no spokesmen...

I agree, and these are all current Guild users. Hrm... that makes you wonder how Martin, Gibson, Taylor and what-have-you managed to win some of these guitarists over... Offering them signature models? Could be just a change of taste, though.

Hi Jerry; was Formby the original artist? I thought Peter Noone / 'ermans 'ermits recorded (covered?) this in the 60s? My wife and I went to a Moldie Oldies show w/ the 'ermits opening for Flo and Eddie and the 'ermits did this tune... cj.

George Formby was a Brit ukelele player, very popular pre World War 2 - and appeared on several movies, bit before Pete Noon was even a twinkle in his father's eye so I think he was the original performer, even if he didn't actually write it. Also did things like 'when I'm cleaning windows' - bit risqué at the time

I'll say. A guy cleaning windows?

Wasn't that one of the deciding factors in allowing women to drive, so they could get from menial task to menial task without disturbing us?
