Nice. Thanks for posting. For some reason the pickguard, red finish and maple (? - blonde) neck work real well together for me.

I believe that '83 was the first year for the pilot as it looks like they only made 50 that year. Only '83 and '84 had the pickguard. I would think that the maple fretboard is somewhat rare also.

For '85 they did away with the pickguard and reversed the neck pick-up arrangement. I guess they thought having the bass side pick-up half near the neck and the treble half near the bridge boosted the highs and lows to much. I love the way my '84 sounds versus my '85.
