Hi Michael; it's a beauty! What's in the soundhole ... a pickup? feedback blocker? J

a fishman rare earth humbucker.
I have a Seymour Duncan Woodie single coil ... at the end of the day, I don't think it matters much what anyone uses on a Guild! :D J

Hey Krysh! I like the look of the CR-01 Crossroads! Hope it's working out for you. Definitely one folks don't see often on here. My only current guild is the S-300A-D that is pictured elesewhere since I'm selling it...so I'll post a couple of Guilds I owned and sold...

Here's some of the old ones, new ones and dearmonds in another post...

freshfront.jpg

I think a 58 or 59 Freshman 3/4 scale...gorgeous, light as a feather, groovy pickup, sounded great!

asffront.jpg

Ahh, this was truly a keeper, about a 62 SFII, those DeA pickups SCREAMED!

t50body.jpg

The T-50 with the Franz, very very sweet!

Okay, let's think about some Guilds a bit newer, but still vintage...I'm still looking for a few pics of other pretty guilds I've owned, like the nightbird and the cherry burst X-160...If you want more pics, just let me know, these are just a few representative ones.

The first is not a guitar, but it was gorgeous, and the unusual 2x10 design...even had the original vinyl cover! To see more amps, look for my amps for sale post!

ampfront.jpg

How about a pretty mahogany SF-4D from 78 or so????

asf4front.jpg

Or a really nice Flyer with some replacement sweet Brian May pickups?

And I've posted this one before a while back, but the Setzer Blues Bird is always worth a look

All right, these ain't Guilds, but since some of you get stiffys from DeArmonds, what the heck...I can't find a pic of the M-77T, but I'll post it when I find it! Here are the DeA big boxes, the DeA solid bodies will be in the next post!

X-145, dearmatron pickups...I though it sounds better than the goldtones on the X-155s!

And the solid body DeArmonds (except the M-77T, those pics gotta be here somewhere!)

M-68--light, cool look, sparkly poly finish, DeA 2k pickups!!! But absolutely crap guitar, sloppy neck joints that moved when you played. Ick!

m68body.jpg

Heck, if you like the black one you'll love the blue one!

PC050033.jpg

And for something that really was nice, how about the S-73-12, 12 string goodness jangling like a ric through the 2k pickups! More than a little head heavy, however...

Two more pics of Guilds I've owned and sold...

sure it's generic, but they're a great buy! DCE-5

dcfront.jpg

And this one will make your pants happy, a custom shop peregrine!

if the guy you sold it to ever wants to let her go, let me know.
and no, the crossroads is not working the way I want it to, yet - damned electronics, but I am close.

I know it's sacrilege in these parts, but my fave guitar that had acoustic and electric pickups was a Godin...It's hard to balance the acoustic and electric natures of the guitar like the crossroads...it does a decent job of lots of things, but if you have a specific electric or acoustic sound you want (as it seems you do), the compromises may not be quite ideal. But I alwas liked the general feel of the crossroads.

This pic was up in another thread, but I'll post it again:

R>L: '72 D-35, '74 G-37Bld, '92 D-55, '81 D-46, '74 D-25M (edited to match the pic)

I wanted to bring this back to the top.
Last weekend, I had the great pleasure of seeing and playing these wonderful guitars.
Gardman was kind enough to invite me to his home and let me play his fantastic collection.
Guild makes the best guitars, period!

LTG has some of the best people in the guitar world as members.
Thanks, Dave for your kind hospitality,
Dale.
