I found this on one of my favorite eBay hangouts, Bargainland. It was described as a "Great Cort guitar for players of all skill levels." What they neglected to mention was that it was a rosewood body acoustic fretless base with an ebony fingerboard, a fishman pickup and beautiful abalone inlay -- the pickup alone is probably worth the $146.00 I paid for it.

Besides being really beautiful, it is so much fun! I've never played base, but it is probably the most intuitive instrument I've ever picked up. Here are some pix:

Cal,

You dog you! Man, that is beautiful...............I do love the grain in that rosewood.

I've never played bass either, in fact I've never really tried any instrument other than guitar, and still trying to figure it out, but know I never will.

Dave, my hat it off to you, not only for finding another deal on a great guitar, but for having the nerve to try something new.

Good luck with her, she's gorgeous.

I thought you were just using that as a wall hanging cal? :D

Started out that way, in fact I bought it wht the thought of reselling but everyone, my wife included, fell in love with it. What you don't see is the little dots on the binding that show you where the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th and 15th frets should be. The tuning is EADG and pentatonic scales come real easy! All you have to do is slide the first couple of times if you miss a bit, after that its all down hill.

For what its worth, Cort is the company that made the DeArmonds by Guild.

West -- it would take you about 5 minutes to get the hang of it!

Dave -

What is the scale length of this bass? Most solidbodies are 34", but acoustics tend to vary between 30" - 34". My Guild B4 is 32". And it sounds like you may be ready soon for a Guild acoustic bass :)

The scale length is 34". As far as the Guild acoustic base, you never can tell about these things!
