I like Garbage a lot, this show is a great show! This band is hot!

That's Duke Erikson playing the Starfire, and Steve Marker, the other guitarist, is pretty well known for playing a custom made Bluesbird. I am currently selling a couple of Bluesbird ads on eBay, one of which shows Steve Marker's custom Bird if you want to see it (item #300068993875). They don't seem to be selling - I may put them up again one more time.

To hear some great Bluesbird work, pick up "Beautiful Garbage" - sort of a modern Blondie album. If you don't know who Blondie is, you are too young (or perhaps too old)!!

Walrus,

Hey, give a Geeze a break, didn't mean to offend you dissing Garbage's repoitoire. The band was better than I expected considering the name they chose.

You have to give me credit for finding their performance & taking the time to get back & watch. I noticed the Guild on the Teaser when I was checking featured artists. Actually I recorded it from PBS Soundstage along with a James Blount/James McMurtry double feature on Austin City Limits.

Hey Jeff - no offense meant! Since I know who Blondie is, I think it may be ME that's old! I was working in a record store while in college, when Blondie first hit it big - Deborah Harry sure seemed hot at the time!

Garbage is not for everyone, I happen to like them. I saw this show before I knew about this forum, but you are right it was a good thing to share - thanks! They seem to be one of the few rock bands out there that consistently use Guilds, and Steve Marker in particular promoted the Bluesbird quite a bit. For the show you are talking about, he is using some other custom guitar, though.

Garbage is pretty cool. Their weak point, IMHO, is the fact that Butch Vig is a producer. I like Butch's work with other people, but the production gets overwhelming. I like music that sounds live.
