Would someone give me a referral to a local head doctor. I couldn't pass this little Washburn D 12 up for a 100 bucks. I know it's not a real guitar so go easy OK. I also know full well I am not worthy of a high end 12 string, like a Guild.

The darned thing is light & live and the neck is lined up with the bridge perfectly, low clean action, nice player. No label but I'm sure it's a low end import.

The Guilds kick it's can for tone & volume but it sounds as good as some I've seen for 8 or 10 times the price. Nice mellow, sort of quiet 12 string vibe. Perfect for an inept 12 string driver to practice with, not so loud it disturbs people but still some sweet.

Would have never done it if the Redhead hadn't agreed it had something special. It was hard to tell since it was missing about 5 strings.

Am I subject to discipline for straying from the fold.

Jeff,

I certainly cannot fault you. A Washburn was my first 12 string, as can be seen in this photo. It was a dead ringer for a Martin.

I made the jump to Guild in '78 and haven't looked back since, but I wouldn't mind still having that old "Washboard" around still. Enjoy it!

Last year I asked Huck to re-create that old photo - hence:

Jeffrey,

What the heck do you mean that you are not worthy of a Guild 12? I suppose I'll have to sell mine then. Nobody ever told me I had to be good to own one!

Nothing against the Martin headstock shape, but I'm just glad that Washburn does it's own thing these days.
