I've just received my Supro Ozark back from the guitar doctor, all set up for slide, and played it for the first time.
I can't stop grinning - this thing sounds utterly SUBVERSIVE !!

So, I'm thinking that I might get a couple of old Supro p/u's and fit them into a Danelectro junker body, and have something a bit different.

I'd love to get hold of a Supro Dual Tone, but prices appear to be on the rise.
I bought the Ozark off a U.S. dealer, probably about eight months ago, for $US295 and have recently seen two sell on Ebay, each for over $US500.

Anyone know, please, where to look ?

I'd keep an eye on Ebay, those pickups do turn up every once in a while. Be sure to include National and Airline in your searches, same pickups.

I have a Supro Dual Tone, and I'm pretty shocked too at what they cost these days. Mine was a total basketcase when I got it, and I had to restore it, but with all the work and parts it still cost me less than what most of them go for on Ebay these days.

Thanks Walter.

Yes, I have been keeping an eye out on Ebay, but nothing recently.
Since I've seen nothing, I have ordered these............

Should give me the "evil" sound I'm after.

When I bought my Ozark (off Gbase- can't remember who the dealer was), I was a little surprised how inexpensive it was. US$295.
The last two I've seen sell on Ebay both went for $550 and change.
Glad I got it - set it up for slide and it's so fat and dirty. Lovely !!

Kind regards, Coastie.

Many thanks Walter.

I've asked the guy will he allow me to bid.

BUT now I have a dilemma. The GFS p/u's are on the way, and I'd like to have the Supros as well !!
Oh well, start another project guitar !

Cheers.

Walter.

Take a look at this................

Ebay auction #280025646054

Surely this is a Dual Tone ?
Didn't know there was any such thing as a two p/u Ozark.

And the price ! It would have to have a more illustrious provenance than it has to have me thinking about paying anything near that price !

Or perhaps old Supros have been under-valued for so long, and are now starting to sell for their true worth ?

Regards, Coastie.
