I saw that guy play harp live with Hot Tuna about 1969 or '70.

Will Scarlett?
(That's who's credited on Hot Tuna but don't know if that's him in photo)

Sounds right. I know the same guy played some on one of their early albums.

for a guy that can seemingly play 5 hour power trio marathons night after night, without missing a beat, and make it look effortless...he sure appears to be struggling with opening that beer can!

I vaguely recall Jack telling me that Will just kind of kept showing up, and they didn't boot him.

That was back when Americans considered Heineken to be some exotic, foreign, gourmet brew.

Nice.

I am reminded of the days when Coors was a cult beer that did not have national distribution. People went to Denver to drink it or knew pilots who flew through Denver.

Ditto cult followings of Rainier Beer out of Seattle (fabulous commercials for "running of the rainiers") and Pearl Beer out of Texas (Chuck Norris "buried alive" scene)

Ah, the simple days, when beer was Genesee Cream Ale, Labatt 50 Ale was a special treat, Foster's in the double can was a macho rite of passage and it was rumored that there was a beer that was not yellow although no one had actually had Guinness.

To the original photo, it is interesting that the equipment has names on masking tape (?) labels and the cords look somewhat flimsy compared to 21st Century Standards.

Note also the somewhat flimsy headband. Not like the industrial-strength headbands of the 21st century:
