Superstar schematic and tone switch resistor

On the Superstar schematic a resistor of 10k exists near V1B off the tone switch. The Thunderstar shows that as 10M. Someone who sees more than just squiggly lines and poor scanner settings like me when looking at a schematic thought that 10k resistor is likely hurting tone. Does anyone know if it is indeed 10k on the Superstar and has anyone tried removing it?

I have an original print of the schematic, not a scan. I'll check it when I get home tonight.

Well, tell a lie. I have Thunderstar, Thunderbird, and SuperBIRD, but no SuperSTAR schematics. I did see that the T-/Super-bird uses a 1.2M resistor, so you might experiment with different values. Since it's all about the tone, you can dial in what you want out of the switch.

Or it might cause a crater the size of a Buick.
