New here and don't know how to post photos, but has anyone ever seen a headstock on a guild before ... Just the G with no "guild"?

There's a lot of free hosting sites. I use Photobucket. There will have a link that you can copy and use with the image icon above, as Steve said.

And, Welcome! I have a '60 X-150 that I got from another LTGer that's wonderful. I can't answer about your headstock, but a pic will help those who can.

I am not certain of that...just having a "G" on the headstock, although a gentleman named Hans Moust at Guitars galore, would definately be able to assist you and he would surely know...He is quite a guitar historian and has helped me personally, with two different Guilds I have purchased in the past.......I think the folks on LetsTalkGuild would back me up on this, as several of them know Hans better them myself...best of luck with this...Steve

Hello Jeffpettit,

Welcome! From your description I assume that your Guild X-150 has what I usually refer to as the 'Simple G' headstock inlay.
It was used on several of the mid-range models in the Guild line like the M-75, F-40, X-150, X-175, CE-100, before the introduction of the 'Chesterfield' inlay during 1957.

Here's an example of an X-150 from that particular period:

Is that what's on your guitar?

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

I'm thinking he means he has no Guild at all, and JUST a letter G. At least that's how I interpret his post.

Hello Jeff,

From what I can see in the photos, I believe we're looking at a guitar that has an original Guild body mated to a neck that was made outside the Guild factory.
Could be a nice guitar though!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust
