My newest acquisition of the 90s F30 with shorter scale and narrower nut may not be the ticker for me.
I played my F30R Standard (Rosewood, 1 3/4 nut, 25'5 scale length) against a Martin 000 hog ( Mahogany, 1 11/16 nut, 24.75 scale length) and as much as I like the Martin guitar I certainly prefer the F30R's wider nut and longer scale......even the tone and sound.
Oh boy, this is why you should buy a guitar when you can play it first or have previous experience / reference to the particular instrument.
Always wanted a Paul Simon style F30....Still waiting for 90s F30 to arrive and maybe I'll be surprised ...one can only hope.

F30R Std 1-3/4 nut... still my favorite. So comfortable to play, so versatile. The F30 Standards are just as nice if you’re looking for that hog vibe. You need both!

If you like the long scale/wide nut, you’re going to be disappointed by any 90s F-30. Me, I love ‘em, and have both a mahogany and rosewood model. I’d love to try a 60s F-30 for an even narrower nut with short scale.
If you want vintage long scale (well, vintager than your Standard), look into the 70s models. I don’t know their nut width, but they do have the long scale you like, and are fairly plentiful.

I probably should have just found an F30 Standard (1 3/4 nut, 25.5 Scale length) hog back and sides.
Still hopeful about the 90s F30 though

All the F-30s I've ever come across from the '70s have had a 1-11/16" nut width, including my 1973 F-30R.

However, overall neck profiles can vary significantly, so you never know how comfortable a guitar from this era might feel until you have it in hand. As noted above, they're rather plentiful, but not in the rosewood version. Aside from mine with the chesterfield headstock, there was a later version with what was essentially an F-50 neck. Here's my '73:

Nice lookin' guitar, Chris. Tell me about your pick guard inlay!

Also, I'd like to have an F30R of some type, but my aching hands would much prefer a 24.75" scale.
What's out there for me?

There are late Westerly F-30Rs, I have one. They don’t come up often, though. (And I’ve trained my kitties to guard mine!)

So tell me about your inlay....if you feel like it!

While you're at it, tell me what you like about your late Westerly Period F30Rs.

What's the pricing like?

The above F-30 is Bobouz’, so he’ll have to talk about the inlay. My late Westerly F-30R (not pictured), I got off of eBay for a little under $1100 shipped. It can be seen, and heard, here. (The b string is too low in the nut, so there’s some pinging on the open Bs.) One thing that makes extra special is the ebony fretboard and bridge.

Wow, I never knew any F30 had ebony fretboard and bridge, nice.

Chris, never heard that Debris song before. Thanks for turning me onto it. Your version is in E and Ronnie Lane's version is in G. Gonna try and learn 'em both for the next Let's Meet Guild convocation (in 2025 or so) :(

I guess I'll have to check out some more of your Isolation tapes, too!

The “bird & branch” on the pickguard (on my ‘73 F-30R) was done with a combination of assorted inlay stickers available online.

Re ebony boards & bridges, the two versions of the mini-jumbo shaped F-30R produced in the 70s also featured the use of ebony. The first version like mine with a chesterfield headstock was made from ‘73-‘75. The second version with a shield headstock & block inlays was made from ‘76-‘78. My guess is that production numbers on both versions were quite low, as they rarely seem to come up for sale.

Ronnie has a little higher voice than me.
Here’s the Isolation Tapes playlist link. Apparently its in the top right corner of the the first one. GAD’s software automatically makes it into a YouTube window.

Great tune. Very nice looking F30R. Love the ebony and that sunburst. Guard kitty is doing a fine job securing the area.

Just an aside, but isn't the F 30 shape the basis for the F 112? That is my favorite Guild 12 string.

You are a-sidedly right, sir!

I think the bracing may be a little stouter on the F-112, but that's something I learned here at LTG
