My oldest brother has a great story from the early/mid 70's where he and a friend were walking home from a Boy Scout meeting in uniform and cut through a large field on NASA (Goddard) property and were stupidly flicking matches off a matchbook w/ one finger, sending the lit matches through the air.
Yep. It sticks to your skin and leaves a hard wart like blister that hurst like hell. I remember back then, boys used to play those "smart" games....where you space your feet apart and the other person throws a knife, sticking it in the ground while trying to get it as close to your shoe as possible. Well we did the same flicking matches at bare feet! Kids! And people think today's kids are nuts. I call that selective memory! That's a great story. I know exactly what they were doing and I stopped doing it after a match head got stuck on my finger. Hurt like h*ll.
