Hello Guild experts. I was told that my X-175 was from 1957 when I purchased it a few years ago. I didn't think much about it after that, but a recent post on another forum piqued my curiosity. The serial number is 4837. This suggests that it's from 1957 according to a couple of online resources, but it has a NY 7 label. Does the NY label mean that it was manufactured before '57? I'm just curious about the guitar's history.

Hello Brian,

During that time they were still using up the old labels that showed the earlier location.

Sincerely,

What a beauty! I love the body shape of those '50s Guild archtops. So sexy.

Beautiful guitar! It looks like it's in great shape.
The finish is in great shape. Some of the binding is shrunken and loose. There's a little damage under the bridge from the tuner posts being screwed into the top. The Franz pickups are wonderful. It's a keeper.

Nice box ;]

I think they call those stove knobs. Seems like cream cupcakes would have suited it better? Or not. White p'up covers, black PG, it's Tuxedo-ish. And gorgeous. The light shows the carve nicely.
