Very nice Dave! :D

Great to hear from you whilst at the Lazy B. Jim was sorry he had to pass you off to me on the phone, but a dear old friend of his was leaving after picking us some great songs.

I'm sure though that you'd be more than welcome at their Casa if you find your way out to East Texas, Indian Rock to be precise.

Graham, it was pure pleasure chatting with You.

Jim and I had spoken prior to that evening, and it's been a few moons moons since the last time that We crossed paths.

Usually when I cross the pond (Gulf of Mex), I'm flying to the Houston area, and traveling Northern Texas is not an option.

I'll try to hook up with everyone again, but My wedding anniversary falls at approximately the time frame of the Arlington get together, which creates an obstacle for me.

Yep, could have talked with you all night Dave, but Graham is right, I had a dear old friend just walking out the door and didn't want to be rude. Gave you a chance to talk with the Grahamster for a while. Graham mentioned how good it was to talk with you, and in fact, had just been talking about you. I've got his phone number here somewhere if you'd like it. :D

Congrats on you and the JF30 finding each other, I know it was a match made in heaven.

Congratulations on a wonderful guitar! I’m very happy for you and to be honest just a bit envious. But you’ve proved to me that I’m doing the right thing by biding my time and holding off until the right guitar comes along. That sure is a beauty. Again congratulations and well done. :D

The Wife isn't happy amongst people she doesn't know, unfortunately.

Gosh that looks just like Ken's.

If it sounds the same Dave, you did real, real good!

Someone at West's home said, after Scratch finished playing, "There is no better sound than a Guild 12 string"

I have to agree!

Update on Westerly JF30-12:

I've been tweaking the neck adjustment, slightly shaved the saddle, (not much there to begin with), and replaced the bridge pins (for tone) and end pin with bone counterparts (w/MOP dots), and she now plays almost as easily as My Taylor 855ce.
The Taylor seems to have better (for me) string spacing, and the satin finished neck is also a decidedly slick touch.

However, I find Myself grabbing the JF30-12 Westerly first, and some days, she's the only git that I play.
I tend to flat pick My Guild gits, as it exemplifies the superb tonal qualities, and I finger pick My Taylors, about 99% of the time.

Yessirree, although she's meant to be a budget priced Jumbo 12, the JF30-12 is rapidly becoming My guitar of choice. :)

Here's a serious question for My well-informed Guildite friends:
Would adding a pick up, (ie, LR Baggs active I-beam), detract value from the Westerly JF30-12?

I prefer a pick up in a acoustic guitar, (not so much for playing), but it sure makes life easy (when tuning in a noisy environment), by simply plugging into the tuner. Of course, I could always spring (pun intended) for a clip on tuner pickup/sensor.
FYI: There's a few large electric motors, running (mostly daytime) near My 'puter & guitar room, and they raise hell with electronic tuners.

TY in advance for Your input! :D

Glad to see the green 'Shields' over the rubber tubing on the Guild and Co. Family...and what a sweet family that is....Folks, don't let the rubber tubing covered stands come in direct contact with your guitars, it will start to eat the finish....and you don't want that. Make some shielding out of a fabric, like you see here, to give that added care you're instruments deserve, and when buying a guitar, look around the neck head joint where it might have been hanging, sometimes there is a telltale scar there on an otherwise pristine guitar....its the only mark on my D25 per. example....Steffan

Hey Doc

You might consider the LRbaggs m1 pickup...it can be removed without affecting your guitars original condition, it sounds pretty good for a soundhole magnetic pickup, and feedback is virtually non existent. It's only drawback is you can see it.
Or I suppose you could go with the K&K pickups mounted to the bridge plate with double sided tape...on the other hand they could be crazy glued and removed later but the pickups would be destroyed.
The K&K mini pure's have no preamp or batteries to attach to the inside of the guitar.
You mentioned the Ibeam...I am not sure if it can be attached and later removed from the bridge plate without any harm to the bridge plate (maybe someone else could chime in about this). But I am sure a good luthier would know.
There's my 2 cents worth...hope it helps somewhat.
Best of luck with your guitar....sure is a beauty and I am happy for ya that you lucked out with it being in such great condition!
Enjoy!

12 stringer,

The LR Baggs I-beam is mounted inside the guitar with a special high strength double faced tape. They are simple to install, and fairly easy to remove, and I've installed a few with much success. They supply a jig which places the I-beam nearly perfect every time.

Only drawback......reaming the end pin opening to allow the jack to fit.

I have a couple sound-hole pick ups, however, the permanently attached cords are a pita, hence, I seldom use them.

I'm going to think long and hard before performing any alterations to this superb axe!

TY, taabru!

My wife made the covering with soft felt fabric, both top and bottom on all the stands.

I felt that way about my D25. I stopped thinking about it. 8) Finding the F65 helped.
