Web hosted photos only on here ?

I'm use to vBulletin forums ( LandRover etc ) that don't require photos etc . to be hosted.
Is hosting the only way to post photos/pdf docs on here ? If so , isn't archive lost , when photos are deleted
down the line ........... ?

These are not my photo-scans ( ) , but those of a former Guild Dealer.
He was invited to tag along ( his flights and accomm ) with Fender Australia
and got to visit Scottsdale and Corona too . Biggest revelation was that
Fender were boxing up Mexican made amps as USA made ! They were
prosecuted shortly after by Trade Practice Laws .
I'll take and load guitar and valve amp photos in the next week or two ; I Won't forget guys !

Yes the only way to post photos here is to host them elsewhere and link. What do you mean by using vectors - hosting elsewhere and linking or something else?

The reason you are not allowed to host here is simple economics. It costs letstalkguild.com money to pay for storage and bandwidth when photos are hosted here. Since LTG is hosted as a labor of love and donations do not cover the cost of hosting keeping the costs of hosting down is a good thing, at least for Don who is paying the bills out of his personal pocket.

Although not a stated reason, it is also true that there are some liability issues that are avoided if photos are not hosted here. If a user inadvertently posted a copyrighted image here, for example, the copyright holder could claim some damages. Conversely, if an image was never hosted here then LTG could never claim the image "belonged" to LTG.

I'd never really given any thought to photos on third party databanks , but it's a real shame that good images are
lost when the "poster" deletes them ; possibly without realising that they're lost to out-sources ( as it were ..... ).
I download anything interesting whenever I find it , just for convenience , but on this Forum I had better do so
because of the system used here.
