Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster!

I've been using a couple of Guilds for about a decade now, but know very little about them. They're my favourite guitars and I swear by them. I've tried to ask around about them but I'm kind of a loner so I never got concrete answers.

Long story short:
Serial: 64011 (I think)
I was wondering what info I can get off this guitar. I believe it's a JetStar and has a third-party Badass Bass II bridge, but no clue about the age or materials and such.

Also, where can I check for replacement bridges and such to get it back to original hardware? I got the guitar like this.

Thanks guys!

Hello ElectricNoid,

Welcome! Your bass is a Guild JS-I from the year 1971; the serial number is 54011.
The original finish was removed at some point, but if you look at the inside of the control cavity on the back side of the body, you might see traces of the original finish color. Not sure if that is the original pickup and I also have no idea what's under the black plate next to the pickup, but another pickup may have been in that location or the pickup may have been moved a little towards the bridge; lifting the pickup may give you the answer.
As far as the bridge is concerned, you may be able to find an original one on internet sites like eBay or Reverb, but if the current bridge works, you might as well leave it on.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Oh wow! I didn't know it was so heavily modified. Maybe that's why I couldn't seem to find any info on it. Nothing looked quite the same when looking through pictures. Thanks for the info!
