They can't seem to find it anywhere. The last scan they have is from Jacksonville FL when it supposedly left there on the 20th...after just sitting there in the UPS facility for 3 days.

They say the official investigation can take up to 8 business days, but it is highly irregular to not have ANY scans after departure.

I had heard about UPS losing something, or something stolen off the truck...but it's never happened to me in all the years I've used UPS, Fed EX or USPS.

If anyone sees a Tennessee Orange X160 Rockabilly....CB000048...let me or the authorities know.

Merry Christmas.

That's not good, Retro!! I mean, that really sucks!!!

I suppose the holiday season always adds to the chances of something going wrong.

Good Luck.

I wouldn't panic just yet. To go coast to coast is 7 or 8 days by ground, plus the holiday. Contrary to what you are saying "it is highly irregular to not have ANY scans after departure", once it leaves your regional center, there won't be any notifications until it hits the regional center on the other end.

RELAX!

Sorry to hear this man, That sucks! I can say that I have had something similar happen in the past and they found it within a day or two of contacting them. I know you are chomping at the bit to get it but with tomorrow being the first work day back after the madness of Christmas Shipping I have faith they will get it straightened out. I only hope that the shop you bought it from insured it for the purchase amount. If something happens and it isn't found I am sure UPS will take responsibility for it and issue the shipper the amount of the value of the instrument which means you will get your money back too. Wishing you the best and hang in there man!

In my experience, a disturbingly common reason for a package to go missing is that it has at least one old shipping label on it, in addition to the current label.

For example . . . I had a large box being sent to me by a customer, via FedEx. And I do mean large; roughly 3 x 3 x 1 foot in size, weighing close to a hundred pounds. FedEx tracking showed it entering one of their central facilities, but never leaving!

Turns out that my customer left our original out-bound shipping label on it. So, it entered the FedEx facility on the intended label, & left via the previous label. And was delivered back to the place from which my customer shipped it back to me.

Took a few days to figure that one out.

Upshot is that if you know of a previous shipping address/label that might be on that carton, see if it ends up there.
