So I want to change the saddles of the floater to an adjustable TOM of some sort to get better intonation. Stores near me have Gibson TOMs so I was thinking of just buying one of those just to save the trouble of ordering online. They also have Resomax ones, but they are double the price of the Gibson ones. Last option is to order a Gotoh online. Can someone shed some light on what the quality/character differences are of these bridges? Or if there are any other bridges you recommend?

BryBry, I'm sorry, I can't follow you. You have a floater bridge, or the top of the bridge is a floater? Do you have an all wonden bridge? Do you have a wooden bridge base, but the top of bridge is a Bigsby model?

Can you say it a bit differently? If not, pics are always good!

Sorry lemme clarify. The stock bridge on an SF2 is a fully wooden floating bridge with unadjustable saddles. I want to swap the wooden saddles for adjustable TOM ones, and keep the original wooden base the same. An SF3 comes stock with this configuration, except I don't want the bigsby. Does this make sense now? Sorry I might not be using proper terminology.

I had put a Resomax on a Gretsch and it was a very nicely made bridge and very light and the saddles were really slippery as advertised but ultimately ended up going with a Tru Arc. Be aware that the Resomax is based upon the later Gibson "Nashville" and some (incl myself don't care for the look). Gotoh makes an excellent version of the vintage style Gibson ABR 1 and it's a rattle free design that eliminates the wire string retainer. I think the Gotoh is a GE104 and they aren't alot 0f $$$.
