At LMG3 in October, the assembled management panel from Fender/Guild told us we would get excited about the future for the company. They were quite coy about what the details were, but they hinted at more activity on the electric front.

Is anybody *not* excited by all this? Holy cow:

I am impressed by the Aristocrat model from Korea. The Gretsch models they are making are very nice guitars and I think these maybe will be great as well. My friend is going to be at NAMM and giving me all the informations about this guitars. He is a dealer so maybe he can buy guitars there I am not certain, but if so he said he is bringing home a Aristocrat for my friend and I!

WOW, Charlie, I'm doubly-doubly impressed with what I think we're going to see at NAMM 2013. The recent posts of the electric and acoustic additions to the model line-up is amazing! Team Guild has been busy. And, thank goodness, Ren Ferguson is at the helm. He's making all the difference in the world! Doyle Dykes' involvement is such another added bonus, too.

Ralf, SFIV1967, is attending NAMM 2013, and I can't wait to see his up-close and personal posts. It is an exciting week for LTGers! :D

As is GuildFS4612CE aka Jane.
Jane is going to be at NAMM 2013? Kewl! 8) She, always, posts the best pictures and commentaries. Hope she and Ralf get to connect. :)

Thanks for the heads-up, frono.

I'll be impressed or not when I've had a chance to play some of the new guitars. Until then, I'll think of it as potentially very exciting.

Oh, absolutely. And if those photoshop thingies are anywhere near what Guild will show at NAMM, it's a very cool start FMIC seemingly took the trouble to go back to take a closer look at some 50's and 60's models.

IF those Korean X series guitars sound anything like an old Guild (and if pickups are a little iffy, they can be rewound/redone without breaking the bank...), they won't replace my vintage ones, but it's "expendable/cheap backup guitar", here I come!!! I like the idea of something with the same measurements and electronics layout, finally a "Guild" I can put into a gig bag, take on a plane, etc.. without really having to worry about it!

wink, wink, nudge, nudge.... BUMP!

I'm really enjoying the excitement in the community that Guild's 60th is bringing forth. After LMG3 I knew it was coming, but I had no idea what form it'd take.

I hope some of the old guard LTGers will check back in and share in the excitement. This resurgence has been over 12 years in the making and frankly is in large part due to folks who carried the underdog torch through some very lean years.

You know, Charlie, I'm an acoustic guy, but I have to say I'm way more excited about the ELECTRICS this time around than the acoustic offerings!! Isn't that a surprise?? Who knew??

I do love the 60th Anniversary Koa guitar.... it's beautiful. I also love the Doyle Dykes signature guitar. They are different and exciting and yet classically Guild offerings.

So, to answer your question, yeah.... quite a bit of excitement! I think it will be GOOD for the company. Let's hope.....
