What's the sound like on a Nightbird?

There a fair bit of variation since they can come with maple or spruce tops, and I've seen them with HB1s, Kent Armstrongs, and EMG pickups, not to mention other here and there that were possibly replacements.

I Can tell you that mine with its maple top and HB1 pickups is the best electric guitar I've ever owned, and I've owned a fair number.

Nightbirds behave like a Les Paul in the hand, but since they're hollow they're snappier and more responsive. They're also MUCH lighter. Mine has a phase switch and a coil split, and the variety of tones I can get from it is incredible. It will even do a fair Strat-like quack. Unplugged, it is very loud and resonant, which is something I like in an electric.

I've owned a couple of Gibson Custom Historic Les Pauls: Two R9s and an R8, and while they were all great guitars, the Nightbird is a cut above in almost every way. If you really want the feel of an old Les Paul, then the Historic does that better, but if you want a guitar that will give you everything else and more, the Nightbird is it.

The Nightbird also has a magnificent ebony fretboard, great frets, beautiful inlays, impeccable workmanship, looks great, and plays like a dream.

Yeah, I'm a fan, and I can't resist posting another picture of mine.

GAD, thanks a bunch. I've never been able to play one of these, and have been hesitant to put down the cash simply because they LOOK amazing, and I love the idea of them.
