I grew up thinking soft cases were never a good choice and were what people who couldn't afford hard cases used. I have expanded my horizons somewhat. I know a guitarist who has had back injuries. He cannot sit for long periods of time in a car but can ride a motorcycle in comfort for great periods of time. So when he needs to travel to a gig, weather permitting, he does so on the bike with his guitar in a soft case. I also note in general that soft cases are being engineered to protect against more threats and have changed to be something more than just a shaped bag. Thanks.

I bought one recently and its top notch!! It's like giving your guitar a big firm hug! If your in the Minneapolis area El Diablo Amps and Guitars sell them.

I have one of these too and I agree, it's great. I also have a Reunion Blues Continental, which might be even more protective. Incidentally, you can often find the Mono Vertigo heavily discounted at Hello Music. I bought one priced at $150 with free shipping and was then able to apply a $30 online coupon to bring the total cost down to $120.

Hello Music's prices fluctuate a lot. I don't totally understand their retail model, but they very often have terrific deals. I'm still kicking myself for not buying the Mono double guitar bag they were selling for $189 a couple of weeks ago.

$180 is a good deal for the Vertigo.

They seem to have a lot of deals that one expects when the manufacturer has an overstock situation and unloads things at a discount. Hello Music does not seem to have the stigma of overstocks although the fine print reveals that the warranty is from Hello Music and not the manufacturer, a point we have discussed far more than we need to when the product offered is a Guild guitar.

That IS a nice case! But isn't "the greatest guitar case" one that holds a Guild?

Strangely, I don't think these are overstock deals. In fact, it's almost the opposite. HM doesn't guarantee you the item anytime soon and often doesn't even have it in stock. When you check out, you're informed that it could be weeks before you receive the item. They're almost like brokers, I suppose. I lucked out and got the Mono bag right away, which I thought was odd because at the time there was very limited availability even in the big box stores.

(As an aside, I'm noticing that I'm not getting alerted to new responses to this thread even though I have my settings set to do so.)
