I think they look cool and could have their place. But I have my pedals setting loosely on the floor and not secured to a pedal board so I imagine I couldn't get too far with a coily cable before I'd be dragging pedals around behind me.

The thing about lifetime warranties is, will the vendor be around long enough to back it up? Or... will you remember who the vendor is when time comes for the cable to fail, if it really is made so well? I have a cable that I bought in high school, it has a braided cloth covering on the outside, it was my go-to cable, and also had a lifetime warranty. I still use it, though nowadays it's starting to develop a little bit of crackle and noise.. but for the life of me I cannot remember the manufacturer who made it, and really, for a $15 cable that's lasted me 20 years, I don't feel like I should file a warranty claim anyways. :)

I think that is more of the point of a lifetime warranty. I don't think that manufacturer or the typical consumer expects this company to be around in 50 years, and if you get 20 years out of a cable most people would consider that money well spent and would not file a warranty claim. I would get any quality cable that would last me 20 years. I won't be playing in 50 years if I am even around, so it is a mute point for me...the big 5-0 is in a few short days. :tongue-new:

I've never tried those, but I do like curly cables! I use Vox cables, and like them a lot. But they do drag loose pedals around!

I think it is cool to learn about this cable maker - thanks so much! To be honest, though, curly cables make me insane for reasons I can't understand. They just drive me nuts, even though I get the reasons for them. They just anger me. :)

I hate long chords. I absolutely love them. They are becoming very popular with the crowd I run with.

My prejudices were formed in the days when curly cables were demonstrably inferior to straight ones. I have never gone back to investigate whether my prejudice needs to be reconsidered because it is so much easier to coil and pack straight cables, tape them to the floor (when the lead player needs to keep from wandering :) ) or just use ties to keep them from getting tangled. But thanks for the link. Good reading even if it is not a product I expect to use.

OK, I should give them a try. I remember thinking they were always tugging at the guitar when I was "expanding" the coils, but maybe I should give it another go.

They still tug on the guitar - especially a hollwow body! But I like how they don't drag around on the floor, get stepped on, etc. To each his own...
