If this weren't so amazingly good, I'd compare it to the seen when Nigel Tufnel uses a violin bow on his guitar for the solo in "Spinal Tap."

I chose that video because the instrument was always on camera. If you search there are a fair number of hurdy gurdy videos out there but I chose to post one where the focus was the instrument and not the player.

I should note that slap bass originated because Larry Graham was trying to emulate the sound of a drum set because the band did not have a drummer. So there is precedent for players using their instrument as percussion.

He actually used a violin, not the bow. The kicker was his pausing to tune the violin while doing so. :ROFLMAO:
