Found that the Tacoma website is not only still up, but seemingly up to date.

http://www.tacomaguitars.com/news/

Are the products not made there anymore, outsourced perhaps?

It would seem that if they were completely closed down, then they would
have a filler such as the DeArmond and Sunn brand websites do...

It was my understanding that Tacoma guitars weren't made anymore, anywhere and that the Tacoma plant had closed its doors when Guild production moved to New Haven. Retailers like Musician's Friend closed out on them last year.

Rather odd..................If you click on the 'Dealer Finder', it tells a different tale.

I agree and thats what I thought was odd...but the site is apparently updated...and if you look at Sunn and Dearmond they are basically just support info for out of production lines. Would have expected the same if all production of some sort was done...

They sidestep the question about factory tours pretty well... :)

Bill, there was a photo posted on AGF a while back of the Tacoma employees with the last Tacoma brand guitar. Fender may keep the brand alive, as they own the name, but I haven't heard any rumors of that.

Some of the links go nowhere, so I'm not sure if it's an automated update with the site as far as the date is concerned.

*Go nowhere is the same as "you can't get there from here"

So, guys, there were rumors of Fender possibly keeping Tacoma brand guitars in production outside the USA. We do know that the Tacoma, WA faciility was shut down in January, and that was it. We also know that much of the tooling and designs were simply dumpstered.

If Tacoma continues, it's almost divorced from its origin, and has nothing to do with Guild anymore.

I haven't driven by the Tacoma plant since Fender moved production to Hartford, however, my cousin who works just across the road, tells me the sound of Harleys firing up at quitting time is no longer.
