She's looking good! Don't be stingy with the pictures, we like pictures.

Tom C.

Edited: I see you added a couple of more pictures. OK, I see the front, how's the back coming?

Re: T100d... Now that looks better...

I have on idea who the guy with the glasses is...hope to find out one day!!!!

Thanks guys...I like the blond finish as well...looks vintage and appropriate....maybe I'll tell you how I did it....it was an accidental discovery...using a product that has nothing to do with finishing....Hmmmm!....?
Sanded it down a bit more getting ready to do the black paint thing...and the Gotoh tuners are nice too....Steffan

Re: T100d- Now that looks better...more pictures & final product

Ok I guess its pretty well done for now....sure looks a lot better than when it 1st arrived...you wouldn't mistake it for the same guitar....glad y'all enjoyed the pictures........and it plays nicely and sounds great too....Steffan

The strings slid out of place on the bridge while I was removing the masking tape...I don't actually play it like that....!

This is the link to the before, project... viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26917&start=15 All the finish had to be sanded off because somone in its past had varnished it with a roller, and it looked like a mild case of cellulite all over....yikes!...also the original 'repair' didn't hold, and I had to do it over.....its been fun....not an 'off frame' restoration, but pretty darn nice now.....I'm a happy guy........!

Its a cool look all right...fits the guitar well....when I'd sanded it down the maple was fairly light and even toned....and I wanted it darker, but I don't know about wood stains, if they are poly ...would they work with lacquer etc...so I tried staining a piece of pine on a shelving unit....and liked that it looked like very old vintage lacquer, so I tried it on the guitar top....and it took on a nice shade...especially after a couple of coats, and then I noticed it getting kind of sticky, and a nice sheen starting...I was just using an old sock as an applicator...you don't see this product much any more...but when I was a kid every house would have it around....It also has a high alcohol content which dissolved the residual finish lacquer. So it redistributed and darkened the top leaving a nice aged look with a slight satin finish....I really like it too....Thanks......???....!!!....Steffan
P.S. this is no way used in the woodworking process......but is well known for its staining as well as other properties....
