Hello.

This is a new guitar to me and is a few firsts - so I thought I would share it the love.
First hollow body Guild and first Franz pickups.
The serial number is 19811 which I believe is 1962 – but happy to be corrected.

The things you notice from the photo is the rather worn state of the finish, no pickguard and a Guildsby (which I believe is not original but again happy to be corrected). I’m not worried about these things – most of my guitars are rather “played”.

The things you can’t tell from the photo is the way it play and sounds.
The action isn’t the lowest but it is SO EASY to play you just don’t notice and the Franz pickups are very articulate.

I love it.

Welcome! You are correct! Your guitar is from the year 1962. To be precise, it was completed on May 21, 1962 so its birthday is coming up in 2 weeks. It was part of a medium size batch of T-100s, both single- and double pickup instruments in both 'blonde' and 'sunburst' finish.
Actually, your guitar was listed as a T-100B-DP, so I assume that's on your label as well.

There's another LTG member who posted photos of his T-100B-DP not too long ago. It's from the same batch as yours, so if you look at the photos it will give you an idea what your guitar would have looked like with all the original parts.

And yes the label is exactly what you mentioned.

Greg - amazing that two independent post so in such a short time about 2 guitars with s/numbers just two numbers apart.
Yours is in much better condition than mine though.

Lovely guitar ! Do you play with a plain g or wound g ( bridge seems to be intonated for wound g). Does the wooden bridge goes along well with a bigby ( tuning stability)?

What kind of music do you play on it ?
