Hey y'all,

I've long wanted to buy a t-100d. I love the way they sound finger picked.

Anyway, I have a chance to buy one but the color is not my preference (the sunburst). Instead, it's a gold color. The owner claims the color is original. Is this possible? I know blond versions exist but I've never seen a gold t-100d before.

Obviously, I would prefer one that hasn't been repainted. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Doc

I guess it *could* be possible - they built some gold colored CE100's, maybe they did a couple of T-100's too?

Thats what I get for guessing

It's primarily the pickups...they look more Gibson-ish than Franz. The bridge stands out as well, but I'd have to consult the book to clarify. Bad photos never help.

I think the CL ad claims them to be P-90s, but yeah, the tabs look too triangular and wide and color seems a little too "cream." Franz covers seem to stay pretty white as they age. Not to mention '64's pretty late for Franz and is probably an accurate date, given the stairstep pickguard.

Probably a refin, though it's possible somebody custom ordered it. The fact that parts have been changed makes refin more plausible.

If the P-90s are something decent, the refin is well done and it plays ok, it might not be such a bad deal

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Guitar forums are ideal for this sort of info.

I've been thinking about this guitar for a while. The price is right, but honestly, the color isn't what I'm after. Craigslist, with its blurry photos and dubious/incorrect claims, can a minefield of strange gear.

One thing to keep in mind is the guys on ebay that strip a guitar of it's parts, sell them, replace the missing parts with the cheapest shizit they can find and resell it to some sap for more than it's worth.

If this is one of them...
