I met Larry when he said I could come over to see his advertised D100.(my friend bought it...my influence? maybe  ).knowing that there was no way I could buy it, but was a Guild nut...he also had the G41, and the Hobokin D35 along with serveral others...He was a luthier but was went so far beyond what was required that he rarely broke even...the man is seriously good..I saw a guitar that he'd made and it was very very nice...so he's got his shop set up now in his new house. and the F112 is getting a makeover, might be like new or better when he gets done...(I'll take Pete in for him to see too)... he will have the neck off, he said I could see how he gets the angle right and shims or leveling the fretboard, what an invite  ...now where did I put my wallet...again...not that it matters, last time I opened it, a moth flew out... Steffan

I used to take my guitars to an old luthier who also built concert violins, and was fascinated with his workshop. I wish I had the forsight to have taken pictures then as he's long gone now. Post some pictures of the repair and the results :)

I'll do that...those moments are treasures...as a kid I remember the local auctioneer in the small town I used to live in....he was a master...only knew him as the guy with 1 arm who had a gas station...then one day I as a young teen I went to one of the local auctions, and there he was...man...he had rhythm, and it was fun because he pretty well knew everyone in the county....I put a bid in for an old pump organ, kind of kidding..$2, well......I got it, and it cost another 2 or 3 bucks to get someone to bring it to our cottage...made in 1892 it was, had all the stops, those knobs you pull out to change the sound...oh, it also had a 5 year guarantee, that was on the label on the back....pride in workmanship back then boy....ok so this isn't a veer cause I started this thread, right? Here is the auctioneer....remembering Phil Rivers, who was the real auctioneer...never heard one better...Steffan

Did you ever have occasion to find out if they'd make an exception on the warranty limitation for you?

This is my favorite auctioneer song!

Wonderful :!: :!: Yep...I can hear a bit of old Phil Rivers coming thru...Nothing beats and old country auction in the yard of an old farmhouse, with the good folks...nice summers day, lemonade maybe hotdogs, and all kinds of amazing stuff...that's what I remember from half a century ago....(almost  ) Steffan

Thank you, Steffan. This adds a completely new understanding to the concept of being "Under The Influence"!

I think it may represent an historic breakthrough for some, who have suffered with the guilt of P.G.A. (Post Guild Acquisition) only to be comforted by the paltry explanation of G.A.S. (Guild Acquisition Syndrome) when, in truth, there are far more nefarious forces at work, namely; U.T.I. (Under The Influence)!

Disclaimer: U.T.I. (Under The Influence) is predominantly a condition affecting otherwise healthy individuals and is *not* to be confused with Urinary Tract Infection!

:D
