Hi all, I’m new to these forums and I apologize if this has been discussed before and I just couldn’t locate anything through the search function, but does anyone know of any companies that produce/sell flight cases that would fit a 2017 Starfire II bass? I’m in a bit of a tight touring turnaround and unfortunately don’t have the time to have one made and haven’t found anything that would fit the body. Thanks for any information!

I have never heard of a flight case specifically for a Starfire but maybe the road worn members on this forum will know. I am sure someone will chime in soon. I know people on here have toured with them (one in a hurricane) so they would know what works.

Maybe Alembic would have something like that laying around???? They have worked on enough of Starfires, that's for sure.

I've heard of folks getting a plain rectangular flight case (I think they make them for drum hardware but also various other non-music related stuff) that's big enough to hold their normal wood hard case and traveling that way as an alternative

Have you looked at those cases that resemble golf club travel cases? You put you guitar inside in a gig bag and maybe secure it with towels. Flight/truck safe and lighter than a traditional road case, like the ones I have/had for my keyboards.

I have one but am at work so cannot check the case immediately.

Not the one I have, but similar idea:

Some mixed reviews on its durability.

Mine is also a SKB. Heavier than a gig bag and most regular hard cases. Wheels offset that.

And still lighter than my old keyboard flight cases which could pull an arm out of its socket, even unloaded.
