I have one of these solidbodies, but I can't find a lot of information about them on the net. Any input would be most welcome - e.g. what are the pickups, are they rare (valuable?), what woods were used and so forth. My example is burgundy red with non-original Gotoh tuners (what was wrong with the original ones) and sanded down neck. 24 frets, I think. Thanks in advance :D

Hello Bladerunner,

Welcome! To the best of my knowledge there never was a Guild Model ST-25. However there was an S-25 made during the early '80s.
Show us a photo and if you don't have one, give us at least the serial number. With that info we should be able to figure out what it is that you have.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hello Hans,
Thanks for info, yes, of course it's an S25, I don't know where that T came from. Unfortunately I can't give you pictures, since I'm too stupid to figure out how to upload them here. I have the pictures on the desk of my computer, not at some web-address, which seems to be the required thing here. Anyway, I thought I'd mail them to you, but your contact form doesn't allow pictures. So I'm a bit at a loss here...

Bladerunner,

Here's a link on how to post pictures here. Hope this helps.

Thanks to Sandy for instructions. If I have followed them correctly, here's a picture of my S25.

Looks like the beginning of an S-25 club 'eh Thunderface?

Here's mine!

This one replaced an earlier cherry one I had that I sold after somebody made me an offer I couldn't refuse!

You can see and hear it here!

(This is from about 20 years ago!)

Welcome to the club Bladerunner!

EDIT: Wow! I just noticed my old one was a three knob S-25!

Loved the video - made me remember what my wife looked like at nineteen! And your guitar looks quite a bit more well-cared for than mine, I have to say. BTW have you noticed an extra hole in the mounting ring for the neck pu on mine? Looks like someone has tried to install a conventional, two-screw-adjustble pu - and then thought better of it.

There was a three-knob at Willie's Guitars a while back. I went to check it out ... and decided that I would stick with my S-250. Imagine that, me turning down a Guild solidbody. That rarely happens, as you all know.

and the aforementioned S-250, which I bought from Dino Olar, who allowed many of his guitars to be photographed for Hans' book.
