It's late spring here (NE Ohio). The tulips and the fruit trees have finished blooming and it's time to start planting the vegetable gardens. (If it will ever stop raining for more than a day).

Feels like summer, but still dry. But it depends on your definition of Spring. Down here, we run in two seasons. Wet and Dry. We're in the late stage of dry season now, but not for much longer. Soon most areas have at least some chance of thunderstorms every day as sea breezes push back and forth across the peninsula.

Yeah, the weatherman's job is getting easy now for the next few months.....
Today:"Warm, mostly sunny, with a chance of thunderstorm"
Tomorrow: Same as above
Day after tomorrow: Same as above
Etc, etc, etc... until what date Dave? October something?.....

Our tent was flooded last Sunday morning but that's nothing to complain about in public. We volunteered to be out there camping so who would listen?

Since you're just across the line from me, Steffan, you know that it's raining again this morning, but we had a couple of really swell days sandwiched in between the wet ones.....about par for the course.
And you must also know that July 5th is the usual target date for warmer/drier weather around here, so sit back and enjoy the whatever.

Weather is still a frequently discussed topic of conversation. No pun intended but it's the ultimate icebreaker.

Bad weather is better than no weather at all,
Joe

It's been unseasonably cool here in Vegas. Last week had showers and thunderstorms and cool weather and wind. This weekend we've got partly cloudy and only going up to the mid-80's. Next week, it's clear and sunny and mid-90's. July and August is called the Monsoon Season here, when we get lots of thunderstorms. Of course calling any season a "Monsoon" in the desert where we get maybe 4" of rain a year is a bit of a misnomer. So YES, it is spring here where I am..... starting to use the A/C almost every day. Here come the $400 per month power bills..... sheesh. Tom in Vegas

It certainly was splendid on your back porch in October, if I recall. :D

October 2010 was a very nice month indeed, Joe; it averaged about five degrees milder than normal. We'd love to have a repeat in 2011!

No; we had a few days of winter in December, went into Spring for the next two months, and started Summer in March.

Is it Spring? Gee, I'm not sure. We had two days in the 80's early last week preceeded by highs in the 50's with wind and rain and then followed by another week in the 50's with wind and rain. Met for chilly nights around the wood burner. Suddenly yesterday it was 75 degrees and sunny. Today it's 80 something, windy, cloudy, and about to rain again; which will be followed by another week of rain. I'm thinking since the temps are going to remain in the 70's we can call it spring. We do have some blooming booooooshes. :)

Peace

After a winter of near record snowfall we're having one of the coolest and wettest springs ever. Only been over 70 a few times, and then only in late afternoon. I was wading in the river this morning, and gee that water was cool, glad I had my thermal undies on. The bass didn't seem to mind, they were biting like crazy. :D

Yeah, October or thereabouts. Later for you than for me, usually.

Here's an study done by a former co-worker and golfing buddy... http://www.srh.noaa.gov/mlb/?n=wetdry

I'm always amazed at the climate difference after just a couple hours drive North.
It caught me by surprise the first time I went to Daytona for bike week and froze my butt thanks to my "South Florida" clothing... The following years, I made sure I was packing the "winter gear"!
